Coaching

The Coach

I’m Lee McCarron, the founder and head coach of Halifax Road Hammers. I spent four years running Cross Country and Track & Field at St.FX University where in my final two years I captained the cross country teams which won back to back CIS team medals.

After graduation I transitioned to road racing and spent time in Iten, Kenya at a training camp with two Canadian Olympians. The transition could not have gone better, I have run eight marathons and achieved a personal best of 2:27 in 2013.

I started my coaching career in 2011 and spent the next four years with Dalhousie University as  an assistant coach for Cross Country and Track & Field teams. During this time, we won three AUS Championships, and had four individual All-Canadian performances.
